Q-tips, Kraft cheese slices and Internet Marketing...

Hi ,

This is an important lesson

about being frugal in your
business WITHOUT hurting

your profits.

There are certain things you
can skimp on and certain things
you can't.

There's lots of "bargain brand"
stuff in the supermarket that
looks just like the "name brand"
stuff except it costs A LOT less.

Sometimes you can save money

buying the cheap alternative

BUT some things you just can't

skimp on!

When we first got married
Melinda and I were broke and

trust me when I tell you that we

tried ALL the bargain brand

products in the grocery store

in order to save a few bucks

each week.

If you were to put a blindfold on
me and ask me to tell apart the
bargain brand products from the

name brands I probably couldn't.

Except when it came to these:

Cheese sandwich slices and

Cotton swabs for the ears.

The bargain brand Cheese slices

just tasted different to me. Yuck!
And the cotton swabs hurt my ears
cause they hardly had ANY cotton!

We realized that we weren't
willing to skimp on those 2
products so we were willing to

pay more for the name brands
and we found other products to

save money on.

When I started building my
internet business I carried over
that same frugal mentality.

I tried saving every penny possible
by investing time to find free
alternatives to certain software
tools and even learning to do
some things myself instead of
outsourcing.

I learned some very painful
lessons going down the "frugal"
route... ESPECIALLY when it
came to graphics. I thought it
would be fine to make my own

website graphics using Microsoft

paint.

HA! Boy was I wrong. Even

though they seemed fine to me

at the time in reality they looked
like hammered dog shit and it

affected my conversions.

Bottom line...

Trying to save a few bucks cost

me thousands in lost revenue,
a lesson well learned... BUT...
